Terms of service

Agreement

By creating an account or using Ego Trip you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use the service. Ego Trip is operated by Primate Ventures; reach us at hello@primate.ventures.

This is not medical or dietary advice

Ego Trip produces training plans and nutrition targets from numbers you give it. It is not a medical service, it does not diagnose anything, and nothing it shows you is a prescription or a clinical recommendation. Energy and macro targets are training inputs you control, not instructions.

Resistance training carries risk of injury. You are responsible for deciding what is safe for you, for your own technique, and for stopping when something hurts. Consult a qualified professional before starting or changing a training or nutrition programme, particularly if you are pregnant, under 18, or have an injury, an eating disorder, or any medical condition. You use Ego Trip at your own risk.

Your account

You must be at least 16 years old. Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account. One account per person, and the information you give us should be accurate — the plans are only as good as what you put in.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law with it, or use it to harm someone;
• scrape, bulk-export or resell the exercise catalog or the food data, or try to rebuild them;
• attack the service — probing for holes, overwhelming it with traffic, or working around rate limits;
• try to reach another user’s data;
• resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.

Your content

Your training history, food logs and any programs you build stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store that data, and to process it into the plans and reports you asked for. If you later share or publish a plan, you give us permission to show it to the people you shared it with.

Our content

The software, the exercise catalog, the interface and the Ego Trip name remain ours. Food data from Open Food Facts is available under ODbL and keeps its own licence; USDA FoodData Central is public domain.

Paid plans

Billing is not live yet, so every plan is currently free. When it does go live we will tell you the price and the terms before charging you anything, and you will have to agree to them.

Pre-release software

Ego Trip is in active development. Features change, things break, and data may be reset while it is in this state. We will warn you before a reset, but you should not treat Ego Trip as the only copy of anything you cannot lose.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or that its output will suit you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Ego Trip. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law stops us. You keep the right to a copy of your data — see the privacy page.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you by email before it takes effect; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new version.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
