Who we are

Ego Trip is operated by Primate Ventures. For anything on this page, write to hello@primate.ventures.

What we collect

Only what the product needs to work. There is no advertising and no tracking.

  • Your account. Your email address. There is no password: you sign in with a one-time link or through Google, so we never hold a password of yours.
  • Your profile. Display name, units, bodyweight and date of birth, where you provide them. Bodyweight and age feed the training and nutrition calculations.
  • Your intake. Training history, weekly availability, session length, available equipment, injuries or movement restrictions you tell us about, your goal, and which muscle regions you want to prioritise.
  • Your training. Sessions, sets, loads, reps and reps in reserve, and the programs generated from them.
  • Your food and hydration. Food entries with their energy and macros, water entries, and any targets you set yourself.
  • What we derive. Weekly volume per muscle region, volume landmarks, estimated strength, and the prescriptions the engine produces from all of the above.

Injury notes, bodyweight and food logs can reveal something about your health. We treat them as sensitive, they are visible only to you, and we do not use them for anything beyond producing your plan.

Why we are allowed to hold it

We process this to provide the service you asked for. Where the data is health-related, we rely on your explicit consent, given by entering it. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting the data or your account.

Who else processes it

We keep this list short on purpose. Each of these is a processor acting on our behalf.

  • Supabase — database and sign-in. Your data is stored in the EU (Ireland).
  • Vercel — hosting for the website and the API.
  • Resend — sends your sign-in links and the occasional account email.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, and only to confirm who you are.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We would disclose it only if the law required it.

Looking up food

When you search for a food, the query is sent from our servers to USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts. Your search terms reach them; your identity does not. Nutrition data from Open Food Facts is available under ODbL and we keep its attribution on every row.

Cookies

Two, both necessary: one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. Training history is the point of the product, so we do not quietly expire it. Delete your account and we delete the data with it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. Much of it you can edit or delete in the app directly. For anything else, email hello@primate.ventures and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Security

Every table that holds your data is protected by row-level security in the database, so one account cannot read another’s rows even if the application has a bug. Traffic is encrypted in transit.

This is not medical advice

Ego Trip is a training tool, not a medical service. Targets and prescriptions are training inputs you are free to ignore. Talk to a qualified professional before acting on anything here if you have a health condition.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

Pre-release

Ego Trip is in development. Data may be reset while it is, and we will tell you before that happens.
